Who runs this site
Omega.one is an educational website about how crypto markets are built. It is written by the Omega.one editors and operated by Graham T. Ellsworth, 11460 SE Lambert Street, Portland, OR 97266, United States. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected]. This policy explains what information the site handles when you read it. It applies to every page on omega.one, including the guides, the glossary, the timeline and the two tools.
What this site collects
Almost nothing.
- No accounts, forms, comments or newsletters. There is nowhere on the site to enter personal data, and no sign-in of any kind.
- No analytics and no advertising. The site does not use Google Analytics or any similar service, and it shows no ads. No visitor statistics are built from your visit.
- The calculators run in your browser. The slippage calculator and the dark pool midpoint simulator do their arithmetic on your device. Nothing you type or select is sent to a server.
Server logs
Like every web server, the hosting provider records technical access data (IP address, date and time, browser, the page requested) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify or profile visitors. They are not combined with any other data, because the site holds no other data about visitors to combine them with. Access to the logs is limited to what is needed to run the server, such as investigating an error or blocking abusive traffic.
Messages to the editors
If you choose to write to the editors using the address on the contact page, your message contains whatever you put in it, usually your email address and the text. It is used to check the correction or source it describes. The site keeps no mailing list, so a message is never added to one.
Third parties
The site loads its fonts and images from its own server. It embeds no social media widgets, videos or other third-party content. Links to other websites (regulators, statutes, original publications) are ordinary links; once you follow one, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets no cookies. A few tools keep small values in your browser's local storage, so they reopen where you left them: omega-slippage and omega-glossary for the calculator and the glossary, omega-fill for the best scores in Fill the block, and keys starting with oq: and oqc: for the progress and streak in the daily puzzle. Children
The site is written for adults interested in how financial markets work. It does not knowingly collect any data from children, and since it has no accounts or forms, there is no route by which a child could register or submit personal details.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. A change that adds any new kind of data handling will be described on this page before it applies. The terms of use and the cookie policy are updated in the same way.

No. Both tools do their arithmetic in the browser. The numbers typed or dragged into them stay on the device, and the only thing kept is the current set of calculator inputs in local storage, under the name omega-slippage, so the calculator reopens where it was left. The simulator keeps nothing.
What happens to an email sent to the editors?

How will I know if the privacy policy changes?
